- Title
- [X011AH], Letter from Thomas Alva Edison to Clarence J Blake, January 21st, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- " I have your letter of the 17th instant. I was very much disappointed at not being able to attend the Merchants' Club Dinner, but my work here would not admit of my absence for even so short a time. ## In relation to the Graphaphone, I might say that Mr. Bell had nothing to do with the instrument itself, which latter was the work of Mr. Taintor, Mr. Bell lent his name to the enterprise for the purpose, I presume, of assisting the commercial side of it."
