Edison goes to St. Augustine [FLORIDA] to recruit. He stayed for several months. In the last weeks of his stay he charted a schooner with several friends for a trip to the Gulf. They left from the Cedar Keys; went through Tampa, Sarasota Bay, and Charlotte Harbor. He changed course and headed for Fort Myer. He is in Fort Myer less than 24 hours before he buys property there and calls it a winter home, where he will do great things for Fort Myer. He plans to open a Florida branch of his laboratory.
