Editor's Notes
Prof. Thos. A. Edison will soon be here and take possession of his winter residence. He has had built this summer, a stern-wheel steamer, eighty feet long, of light draft, to be used in navigating the Calcoosa and its tributaries. She is comfortably arranged for passengers, and is doubtless on her way down at this writing. The Professor and friends will come by rail as usual. A look thorugh his fine and extensive laboratory here shows that it is ready for business at once. Mr. Gilliland will ot be down this winter. The firm of Edison & Gilliland has been dissolved. Mr G. retiring.
