Title
[X120CAT], Letter from Frank Julian Sprague to Charles William Wason, November 21st, 1889
Editor's Notes
[To East Cleveland Rwy Co] The suggestion which you made about putting gear with a coned [illeg or blank] is a thoroughly practical one, and is a good way to fasten the gear. We are going to ty it, but are also trying to-day anoather way of fitting a key, which perhaps would cause you lesss change and trouble than the plan you suggest. I expect to have it finished by tonight, and if it is practically successful I will send you an immediate description of it. The general plan is to draw a taper key from the back by a screw on a nose plate, but I will explain itmore fully when we have trtied it and it has proven satisfactory.
