Title
[X154A4FI], Letter from Edward Hibberd Johnson to Uriah Hunt Painter, December 7th, 1885
Editor's Notes
Why are you so suspicious? Hutchinson isn't responsible for intending to do you a bad turn; I'm responsible for the blunder because I didn't tell him to have the man report to Royce & Marean; I told him to send him to you and you would have him put on the Senate payroll; he thought it was OK to have him report to Clark; we haven't sent you a wire because the man hasn't given us a memo on what is needed.
