- Received yours of the 8th inst. informing me that the board had no right to sell your 10 shares; the company counsel does not agree with you; I had no hand in this matter, though you seem to hold me responsible.###The amount Johnson paid for you on 14 shares has been credited and we will issue a certificate for them in place of the installment receipt for 24 shares that you sent me; can't endorse on that installment receipt payment on account for 1 68/100s shares; if you won't send that installment sheet, it is impossible to issue those shares or any further installment receipt; I'm willing to do anything in my power to accommodate you except what I am advised "is illegal and criminal, and which I know will subject me to imprisonment in jail."
