Title

[X154A5CB], Letter from Joseph Hutchinson to Uriah Hunt Painter, March 23rd, 1886

Editor's Notes

[Letterhead: Edison Company for Isolated Lighting] Re: yours of the 21st, it would cost about $2,000 to put an 80 HP locomotive boiler in Washington; the value of it when taken out and sold would not be more than $1,000 so we'd make no profit renting one for less than the latter sum; the price on engines is list; we get 20% off; for 1000 lamps we advise two engines###P.S. "boiler large enough to run 1000 lamps should be of the return tubular type as a locomotive boiler or that size could hardly be made"
