Title
[X154A7AS], Letter from Uriah Hunt Painter to Edward Hibberd Johnson, February 11th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"Supposing that Mr. Benton was a square man I allowed him to collect the commision on the Panama plant, and gave him one half of it. My request to him to remit the balance has been treated with contempt. Your endorsement of him on more than one occasion created the confidence which appears to have been misplaced. Is he stil in you employ and is there any way to compel him to make restitution?
