- [1 page typed] "If you can get Edison to sell out his interest in the Phonograph for a reasonable sum, spot cash, I will add the control of the Old Phonograph Company to it, and try to turn it into cash befor ethe public find out what Edison and I have both already discovered, that there is not now and as far as I can see, no prospect of its being any more than a toy during the short time that the patents now have to run. ## This is entirely confidential, and for you alone. ## I think it would be a great relieft to him to get it off his hand...."
