- Editor's Notes
- "My Dear Col: Yours of 5/22 to hand. ## I suppose from this notice that you have received from Tomlinson that Edison has issued to you some stock in his bastard Comp'y, and before giving you the certificate, he wants to get some agreement signed. ## I think you had better go around and see just what it is. He will not send me any notice of that kind. His idea is to get you and Johnson somehow compromised. ## The U.P. Funding bill is an Administration Democratic measure, made so by order of Mr. Cleveland. I have written to G. S. Scott as you suggested. ## I tried to two days to see S, V. about S. I will try and catch him tomorrow morining as I have got through the matter I had on hand today and won't be so busy. ## I think the Ticket will be either Blaine or Gresham. ## I think it will be fatal to nominate Depew on either end of the ticket.
