- Title
- [X154A7DB], Letter from Uriah Hunt Painter to Edward Hibberd Johnson, June 5th, 1888
- Editor's Notes
- "Yours of 6/4 to hand. ## My letter was written for you and not for 'any stranger,' and you know that I never have at any time held you responsible for anything Mr. Edison has done; nor have I ever supposed that you had any sympathy with any course pursued by him that was not strictly equitable. ## I do not object to your declining to furnish any information about the Edison Company; on the contrary if my purpose had been to have used anything, I certainly should not have applied to you for it but could have obtained it through some other source..." Believe the EELCo stockholder "intends to raise some questions at an early date. I shall let him paddle his own canoe and make no further attempt to get it stopped as my motives are only misconstrued."
