- E. H. Johnson Prest &c. Dear Sir:-- Enclosed please find a copy of the resolution passed yesterdy by the Senate providing for taking up the electric light question for lighting the Senate and Capital.##Will you please send to the Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Leland Stanford, a copy of your letter to Hon. Mr. Edmunds last summer in relation to the danger to the alternating current then being introduced in the Senate as an experiment, and state to Mr. Stanford that you do not know what action was taken by Mr. Edmunds, and enclose a copy of Edmunds acknowledgment of its receipt.##The Brush Ring that pretended to capture the House and have so far been successful in preventing the acceptance of the contract of the Edison and Bergman Companies, and I have been entirely successful in preventing the Committee from getting the money they had expected to enable them to contract with the ring outside ofhte question of the lowest bidder.
