Title
[X154A8CK], Letter from Josiah Custer Reiff to Uriah Hunt Painter, June 8th, 1889
Editor's Notes
"I think by Wednesday I will be in a position to settle about $20,00 of my old indebtedness for $5,000 if I can have the cash to put up at once. That is what I referred to some time since when I wrote you [illeg words] at work at [illeg] since I can see my way perfectly clear to get the money before the close of the year but NOT NOW. ## I tell you IN CONFIDENCE I am now under order of the court for examination in supplementary proceedings of course publicity would ruin me & [illeg] my position here. You can I imagine my condition [if ruined?]"
