- Editor's Notes
- My Dear Col:-- Yours of 11, 25, to hand. I had no desire to wound your feelings, and would not do it even if there was cause. You jumpon a man without ceremony to carry him down with a brick bat without stoppint to think whether it is just or proper. You act on the impoulse, and say very severe things, and then don't take in good nature the rebuttal. I only received your telegraphic answer to myinquiry of Sunday at five O'clock this evening. I will be in Philada., Capt. Greens Office on tomorrow at noon. If there is anything new in that stock send me a message so I will get it there as I am undecided what to do. It looks like Reed for Speaker, either on the first or second ballot, which I wuppose will please Cammack.
