The Thomas A. Edison Papers Digital Edition

This book cover the periods 1871-1872 and 1876-1878. Most of the entries are by Edison and refer to his personal expenses and household expenditures. There are also accounts for October 18-December 30, 1871 relating to the short-lived News Reporting Telegraph Co., including five entries recording wages paid to "M. Stillwell" (possibly Edison's future wife, Mary Stilwell). Also included are a few entries pertaining to the Gold & Stock Telegraph Co. The spine is labeled "July 1871 to Febry 1872. DAYBOOK. T.A. EDISON." The book contains 481 numbered pages, most of which are blank. Approximately 40 pages have been used.
