Description: This letterbook covers the period March 1903-February 1904. It contains outgoing correspondence by John V. Miller. The letters pertain to prospecting and equipment, as well as mining leases and expenses in the Sudbury district of Ontario. Included are numerous field reports to Edison. Several items relate to the use of a pump from the New Jersey and Pennsylvania Concentrating Works. One letter discusses the need for Robert Rafn, a laboratory employee, to translate portions of a mining textbook by P. Ulrich entitled Lehrbuch der Markscheidekunde.
The spine is stamped "Letterbook." It is labeled "1903 Mch 12" and "1904 Feb. 7." The book contains 496 numbered pages and an index. Less than 10 percent of the documents have been selected.
