This notebook covers the period January 1902-May 1903. It was used by Cloyd M. Chapman for work undertaken at Stewartsville on behalf of the Edison Ore Milling Syndicate, Ltd., and related interests. The notes pertain to briquetting experiments, furnace trials, kiln runs, and other tests using ores from Ogden, New Jersey ("Edison concentrate") and the Dunderland region of Norway. The front cover is labeled "Furnace Book." The book contains 193 numbered pages. Many pages are blank; one page was removed before the book was paginated.
