The Thomas A. Edison Papers Digital Edition

This ledger covers the period June 1892-February 1894. As the account book of final entry, it summarizes transactions relating to the manufacture of phonographs and records, as well as Bates machines, talking dolls, batteries, and motors. Included are accounts payable and receivable; sales, labor, materials, machinery and tools accounts; expenditures on wax; payrolls; and real estate accounts. There is also a special account for the London order of the Edison United Phonograph Co. The spine is stamped "General Ledger No. 2 Edison Phonograph Works" and is labeled "June 1st 1892 to Feby 28th 1894." The book contains 800 numbered pages, most of which are blank. The last entry appears on page 321.
