This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the operation of the West Orange laboratory. Included are items regarding drilling equipment and other instruments and supplies. Also included are several memoranda in Edison's hand containing instructions and listing chemicals needed for the laboratory.

Approximately 30 percent of the documents have been selected. The items not selected include statements, receipts, and routine correspondence regarding supplies and equipment, along with a report from Muralt & Co. to the Buffalo & Susquehanna Rail Road Co. concerning the possible electrification of the railroad.
