This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the use of Edison's name, whether authorized or unauthorized, for advertising, trademark, or other purposes. Among the items for 1910 are several letters from detective Joseph F. McCoy regarding plans to establish a company to manufacture Edison's Polyform. Also included are letters pertaining to storage battery trademarks and to a hearing aid called the Edison Electric Ear.
Approximately 40 percent of the documents have been selected. The items not selected relate primarily to children named after Edison and to confidence schemes involving his name.
