This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the Western Union Telegraph Co., which controlled many of Edison's telegraph patents after 1874. The documents for 1874 consist of three letters exchanged between Edison and William Orton, who was president of Western Union until his death in 1878.
All of the documents have been selected except for exhibits that also appear in Volume 71 of the "Quadruplex Case" in the Litigation Series.
