This folder contains correspondence, agreements, and other documents relating to the business of the Edison Telephone Co. of Europe, Ltd., and the Société Générale des Telephones. Some of the documents pertain to the Edison Gower-Bell Telephone Co. of Europe, Ltd., which was established in 1881. Much of the correspondence is by Edison's associates, George E. Gouraud and Joshua F. Bailey. Some of the correspondence is in the form of cable messages to and from "Noside London," a code name used by Gouraud. Related material can be found in the Edison Telephone Co. of Europe Minute Book (Company Records Series).

Approximately 90 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: bills and receipts; duplicate copies of selected documents; copies of cable messages in Letterbook LM-001 (Letterbook Series).
