Description: This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the business, organization, and management of Bergmann & Co. The company manufactured electric lighting fixtures, sockets, and other devices used with the Edison system of electric lighting, as well as equipment for the Edison phonoplex system of telegraphy. Some of the documents concern Edison's turbulent personal and business relationship with Sigmund Bergmann. There are also some items pertaining to equipment ordered by the Edison Electric Light Co. of Philadelphia.
Approximately 50 percent of the documents have been selected. The following categories of documents have not been selected: routine correspondence and bills relating to accounts, orders for phonoplex and electric light equipment, and miscellaneous company business; duplicate copies of selected documents.
