This folder contains unsolicited correspondence from aviators, inventors, and enthusiasts requesting Edison's advice and assistance. The letters were mostly inspired by newspaper and periodical articles concerning Edison; few of them received any reply. The one selected item contains Edison's response in the form of marginalia and relates to the use of storage batteries in airplanes.
The unselected material includes blueprints, newspaper clippings, and an issue of Flight, a weekly publication of the Royal Aero Club of the United Kingdom. The subjects pertain to airplanes, helicopters, dirigibles, and flying machines generally.
