This folder contains unsolicited letters from aviators, inventors, enthusiasts, and journalists requesting Edison's advice, assistance, or opinion on matters related to aviation. The three selected items for 1912 contain marginalia by Edison. Among the correspondents is author Frederic V. R. Dey, who had previously interviewed Edison on the subject of the storage battery.
Less than 5 percent of the documents have been selected. The unselected items consist of letters that received no reply or that received a perfunctory response such as "out of my line."
