This folder contains correspondence and other documents relating to the technical and commercial development of wireless telegraphy or radio. Included is an exchange of telegrams between Edison and Guglielmo Marconi concerning a lecture by Marconi at the New York Electrical Society. Also included are communications by Edison and his chief engineer Miller Reese Hutchison in regard to storage batteries as a power source for wireless telegraphy.
Approximately 40 percent of the documents have been selected. The unselected items consist primarily of unsolicited requests for information or assistance from Edison. Also not selected are circular letters and other routine correspondence with the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Co. of America, including reminders regarding the renewal of notes held by Edison.
