This folder consists primarily of letters from Robert Anderson Miller (1861-1911) to his younger sister, Mina Miller Edison. Also included is a letter by Louise Igoe Miller, whom Robert married in 1887. The ten selected letters cover the years 1888-1898. Included is a letter from June 1896 relating to the dismissal of charges against Robert in the second of three embezzlement cases. Some of the letters contain comments about the presidential campaign of 1896 and the candidacy of William McKinley, a friend of the Miller family. A letter from September 1898 mentions the reaction of President McKinley to news of the death of Theodore Miller during the Spanish-American War.
Additional letters by Robert and Louise Miller can be found in the Charles Edison Fund Collection and the David E. E. Sloane Collection Some of the letters in the CEF Collection, scanned from the microfilm, are now in the possession of the Thomas Edison National Historical Park.
