This notebook covers the period February-March 1880. There is also an entry for July 1880. All of the entries are by Edison and Francis Upton. Included are notes and drawings relating to lamp experiments and to photometric tests of lamps. The book also contains Edison's description of the ideal lamp and Upton's notes on meter and dynamometer tests. There are two labels marked "Photometer" and "Feb 1880." The bottom part of the label containing the Menlo Park notebook number has been torn off. There is an index on the inside front cover. The book contains 284 numbered pages.
