Description: This notebook covers the period 1903-1904. The book contains notes, primarily by Edison, regarding experiments to stop the action of the potassium hydroxide solution on the components of Edison's storage battery. Included is a list, drawn from chemical reference texts, of compounds that are not acted upon by alkaline solutions. The inside front cover is inscribed "1903-04 Experiments on Foaming of KOH in Battery Witness Ludwig F. Ott." An entry on the first page indicates that the work was done at Edison's laboratory at Fort Myers, Florida.
