Description: [The first paragraph of this note covers all of the Libers of Patent Assignments in Record Group 241.]
Patent assignments were generally forwarded to the U.S. Patent Office, where they were copied into the Libers of Patent Assignments. A summary was entered into the Digest of Patent Assignments, and the original document was then returned to the assignee. These Edison-related assignments, which cover the years 1868-1876, pertain primarily to inventions in telegraphy. Also included is an assignment relating to Edison's electric pen.
This agreement between Edison and Lily G. and Charles C. Yeaton is dated March 4, 1876.
