This notebook, which covers the period August-November1882, is the fourth of four notebooks used to record tests of zinc electric meters and batteries at the Edison Machine Works in New York City. It is a continuation of the previous notebook, with the notation "Meter Book No. 2 Continued" inscribed on the page preceding the first entry. The entries are by unidentified experimenters. Like the other notebooks in this series, it is a handwritten copy, probably made during the 1920s or 1930s at the direction of Clarke, of the original notebook that was used in the Testing Room at the Edison Machine Works. The label on the front cover is inscribed "Electric Light Meter 4." The pages are irregularly numbered; approximately 25 pages have been used.
