These documents consist primarily of letters to and from James J. Storrow, a patent attorney for the Bell Telephone Co. They cover the period April 1879-October 1880. Also included are two undated memoranda, probably from the late 1870s or early 1880s. The documents relate mainly to patents and litigation involving Edison's carbon telephone. Other correspondents include Henry Bentley, president of the Philadelphia Local Telegraph Co.; George B. Prescott and George B. Scott, officials of the Gold and Stock Telegraph Co.; and Lemuel W. Serrell, Edison's patent attorney.
