These two documents are from June 1921 and October 1929. The first item is a letter to Fanny F. Clark in which Edison expresses his sympathy on the death of her husband, Thomas F. Clark. A longtime friend of Edison, Clark was a capitalist involved in the telegraph industry. The other item is a radio greeting from Albert Einstein to Edison commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the invention of the incandescent light. Einstein made the broadcast over German radio on October 21, 1929, and Edison acknowledged it by cable the same day. Included are Einstein's undated draft of the message, handwritten in German, along with a typed translation.
