The Thomas A. Edison Papers Digital Edition

These letters, which cover the years 1886 and 1905-1921, consists of correspondence from Louise Igoe Miller (1858-1937) to her sister-in-law, Mina Miller Edison. The letter from February 1886 comments on Mina's upcoming wedding to Thomas Edison. Subsequent letters contain references to Edison's work habits and celebrity, as well as an invitation to visit Puerto Rico, where Robert A. Miller served as U.S. postmaster and operated a plantation. Also included are numerous remarks concerning Louise's reaction to the death of her husband in 1911. In a letter dated May 31, 1915, Louise mentions a letter by Thomas Edison, written in 1898, advising her husband not to move to Puerto Rico. She also comments on a recent accident in which Theodore Edison was struck by a car and slightly injured.
