This extract from Bulletin no. 31 of the American Rights League, July 1917, contains a manifesto by Edison and other prominent members of the League to the Russian people. The League, which campaigned for American participation in World War I, urged the Russians, who had recently overthrown the czar and established a provisional government, to continue fighting on the Allied side. At the time, David R. Francis was the U.S. ambassador to Russia.
