Description: These documents, which cover the years 1862-1928, consist of correspondence, technical notes, and other items written by or addressed to Thomas Edison. Included are items relating to the manufacture of the tinfoil phonograph and to experiments on the perfected phonograph and disc records. Some of the material pertains to storage battery experiments and rubber research. Also included are a letter to William D. Marks of the Edison Electric Light Co. of Philadelphia objecting to an increase in the price of electric power and a June 1862 issue of the Weekly Herald, the newspaper that Edison published while he was a newsboy on the Grand Trunk Railway.
