- Description
-
This document contains anecdotes and reminiscences by longtime Edison associate Edward H. Johnson regarding J. P. Morgan's financial support for the Edison electric lighting system during the early 1880s. The manuscript was prepared in 1914 for use in Morgan's official biography, written by his son-in-law, Herbert L. Satterlee. It appears to be a combination of two typescript drafts. There are two versions of the first page, the earliest of which is mistitled "Personal Recollections. Everitt H. Johnson." The later version bears the title "Personal Recollections. Edward H. Johnson. Mr. Morgan's Contribution to the Modern Electrical Era."
