These bills of sale from 1886 and 1891 pertain to Edison's purchase of Glenmont, his home in Llewellyn Park, from the firm of Arnold, Constable and Co. and his subsequent transfer of the home and its contents to his wife Mina Miller Edison. The two 1891 documents were prepared by Edison's attorney, Sherburne B. Eaton, in order to convey the property through a third party, Edison's chief corporate associate Samuel Insull. The 1886 bill of sale contains an inventory of each room and space at Glenmont, including a catalog of the library, while the documents from 1891 list the furnishings added to the house by Edison after he purchased it.
