These items consist primarily of letters from Marion Edison Page (1829-1900), older sister of Thomas Edison, to Mina Miller Edison. There is also a letter to Mina from Marion's daughter Isobel (Belle) Ristine (1852-1917). The two dated letters are from 1898. The undated items are also from that year. Included are comments about the death of Mina's brother Theodore W. Miller in the Spanish-American War, the birth of her son Theodore, and Marion's visit to Glenmont in September 1898. There are also remarks about the activities of Belle; her husband, railroad executive George Washington Ristine; and their teen-age children, George Jr., John, and Marion.
In addition, there is a poem by Marion which begins "Beautiful hills of Milan, I long to see you once more" and expresses regret that "my brother and sister [are] gone now." The reference is to William Pitt Edison (1831-1891) and Harriet Ann Edison (1833-1863).
