The phonograph is the great card & people flock to hear it. The other apparatus is not yet going altho' they say it will be in operation shortly. ## I write to say that I find Mr. Dredge has been let in by my brother on odds & ends to the amount of 30/1 30 pounds & I can't persuade him to draw for it . Now, I don't think Mr. Edison will want him to use it, when he has simply done a friendly act & moreover, I think, he is a man, who can if he chooses be very useful to you. ## Mr. Edison has always been friendly to me & I am always ready to do him a favor. I think I should be wanting in not letting you know this & suggesting that a draft for this amount be sent to Mr. Dredge. ## He will never do anything about it, I am quite sure of that, but he may think all the same. ## I hear Mr. Edison is coming over & hope it is true. I shall be glad to be of service to him. ## I am staying with Mr. [Illeg] & have my wife & daughter at his house. ## We shall be here till the 28th of July when we all expect to go to Paris."},{"label":"Author","value":"Wiley, William Halsted"},{"label":"Recipient","value":"Tate, Alfred Ord"},{"label":"Mentioned","value":["Dredge, James","Wiley, Osgood S"]},{"label":"Date","value":"1889-07-02"},{"label":"Type","value":"Letter"},{"label":"Subject","value":["Labor","Expositions, demonstrations, lectures","Cylinder phonograph"]},{"label":"Folder/Volume ID","value":"D8952-F"},{"label":"Microfilm ID","value":"127:68"},{"label":"Document ID","value":"D8952ABP"},{"label":"URL","value":"https://edisondigital.rutgers.edu/document/D8952ABP"},{"label":"Rights","value":"Thomas Edison National Historical Park"},{"label":"Publisher","value":"Thomas A.
