\nDear Sir:-
\nYour letter of 25th instant is received. I am very sorry to learn that the quadruplex instruments [ware?] found on inspection to be defective, and I regret very much that you have been put to the trouble of repairing them. These instruments should not have left the laboratory if they were not in good condition. I shall be glad to receive from you a bill covering the repairs.
\nYours very truly,
\n(Signed Thomas A.
