\nDear Sirs:-
\nMr. Edison has read your letter of 17th instant in regard to the preparation of a new set of foreign patents on [illegible text] Phonograph for the Edison United Phonograph Co., and he [illegible text] for reply that you can furnish Messrs. [illegible text] & Saligram with coping of pending applications and dates of filing, they to pay all the [illegible text] in connection therewith. Mr. Edison says further that he would advise you to get everything relating to your expenses in this matter in black and white. I return herewith letter of [illegible text] Seligman & [illegible text] which accompanied your letter now under reply.
