\nDear Sir:-
\nWith reference to your letter of 28th instant, I beg to inform you that Mr. Edison’s time is entirely taken up by his own inventions, and it is impracticable for him to give any attention to outside matters.
\nYours truly,

\nTO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
\nMichael J. Brown was employed in my Laboratory about four years, and performed the duties assigned to him satisfactorily. He is capable rendering much assistance in correspondence work by reason of his ability as a typerwritist and his familiarity with the operation of the phonograph. I can recommend him to any one in need of such services.
