Was a Director & shareholder of the Edison Duplicating Ink Co, alias American Novelty Co and has a seat at the desk of his friend R W Russell [was also asst. secy to him when Russell was counsel and Secretary to Amer Tel Co in 1857-65] -- appears not to know TAE well and refers him to EHJ for ref -- inquires about patent rights for telephone and phono for California will be going there with colony of Englishmen -- had been connected with London, Birmingham & Liverpool RR and with Sewing Machine Co in London
