Rec'd yours of 6th July last stating TAE would not attend the lecture before the Society; would like TAE to send a paper to be read during the winter session on any discovery of his [TAE replies: "Reply to your favor of 6th inst I am sorry to have to decline your invitation to send a communication to be read at a meeting of your Society, my time however is so entirely occupied by experimenting on & practically developing my various inventions that I am obliged to invariably refus such requests as you ask of me"]
