Title

[D8805AHY], Letter from E Dueretet to Thomas Alva Edison, October 19th, 1888

Editor's Notes

"On two different occassions you have been so good as to send me compressed carbon buttons for your Microtasimetre, which I have constructed for schools. I beg to ask from you the same service again, and in so doing to offer you my thanks in advance. ### The various journals have recently given accounts of the remarkable results you have obtained with your phonographs in employing certain soft cylinders made of wax, and composed according to your directions. Could you authorize me to make these also, following those complete instructions which you would give me. We could arrange this on a business basis, the terms of which you could fix. Would it be possible for me to have here one of your new phonographs? Everywhere on all sides they ask me if I can supply them. ### I should be happy to have a large photograph of the illustrous electrician, EDISON, signed by his own hand, although the request may be an indiscreet one." E. Ducretes [Marginalia: "Say for phono Gouraud say appratus for Carbon button dismantled but expect get it working soon to supply some [unclear] carbon for Paris it apparatus when I will see some send photo." E]
