Title
[D8818ANG], Letter from Osgood S Wiley to Charles Force Deems, June 21st, 1888
Editor's Notes
TAE received your letter 18th, and replies re the Phonograph. # If a phonograph cylinder on which there was music, say for instance 'DOWN BY THE SUWANEE RIVER,' was reversed so that it would be reproduced backwards, the music so rendered would be entirely different from 'Down by the Suwanee River' and would be perfectly harmonious. # Next time you are at the Lab I will be happy to subject a number of tunes to this process, and you can then judge for yourself, [handwritten connection begins] providing the facilities are there at hand.
