Title
[D8845AGY], Letter from John Birkinbine to John H Harden, December 17th, 1888
Editor's Notes
"I will refer your inquiry as to cost of magnetic separator to Mr. Edison, but will answer your inquiry in regard to the expense attached to running the machine by saying that it will consist of delivering the ore after it is crushed into a hopper, and removing the concentrated ore and tailing s from bins. A three to five horse power dynamo will operate a big machine, and a you will readily see the cost of separating is a very small item. I think it would enrich your Jones ore are satisfactorily, and would suggest that you make a visit to the Laboratory with me and see the machine in operation."
