"The undersigned editor in chief of the 'Berliner Lokal-Anzeiger,' formerly member of theUnited States Coast Survey begs leave to respectfully submit to you the [adjoining?] copy of the evening edition of the Local-Anzeiger, containing a few words of welcome to the modern hero of the electrochemical science. I should be happy if you would k indly accept thee few printed lines in the light of a heartfult hommage tendered to you by a member of the German press. For care y our time should not be too much encumbered, I would feel greatly obliged for an interview however short."
