Title
[D8915ABD], Letter from Women's Christian Assn (Newark), Naomi T Compton to Mina Miller (Mrs Thomas A.) Edison, November 6th, 1889
Editor's Notes
The ladies of the Women's Christian Association of Newark desire to bring the subject of their work to the notice of TAE, [---] that he may [---] be disposed to grant them a portion of his magnificence, which will be devoted to the interests of 'Those who are trying to help themselves.' # Realizing the fact of numerous demands upon the time, patience and purse of one so successfully absorbed in scientific pursuits, the Board of Managers hardly dare hope for personal interest; but would esteem it an honor to their Association if Mrs. Edison had the inclination to give her valuable co-operation. Hoping that the accompanying Annual Report, with the circular containing plans for future enlargement of the good work already begin in a city full of working girls, may receive a slight degree of attention from both TAE and Mrs. Edison.
